Invisalign is clear aligners, so essentially clear braces. They can straighten the teeth and fix the bite without having to wear the bulky wire metal braces. There are multiple ways someone can be a candidate for Invisalign, but if you have teeth that are crowded, meaning that they are scrunched together, or if you have spaces between your teeth, or if your bite is just uneven, you’re a candidate for Invisalign.
So when you’re wearing your aligners, you take your aligners out only to eat. So you’re wearing the aligners for 22 hours a day. So all day long, all night long, and you just take them out to eat, and then you brush your teeth, and you rinse and put them back in.
Invisalign is good for anybody over the age of, I’d say, around 16, once you get your permanent teeth in. I think Invisalign is a great option for working professionals, people in general that just speak to other people during the day, because since they’re clear, you can’t see them, and they’re pretty much invisible, just like the word says. Invisalign does not hurt.
You might feel a little bit of shifting and discomfort the first few days when you wear them, just because your teeth aren’t used to having the Invisalign on them, but it is a very comfortable process. The timing for Invisalign depends on your case specifically. So it could take anywhere from six to eight months, or up to a year or a year and a half.
It really depends on the case and the level of difficulty of the case. You should trust Invisalign over something like Smile Direct Club, because you actually have someone watching your treatment. We’re monitoring your treatment, and also Invisalign monitors your treatment to make sure that you’re getting the results that you want in the time that we want.
